We were invited to experience the Lego Travel Adventure and National Geographic Earth Explorers Exhibit at the Discovery Cube OC.This is a great exhibit for the whole family! The kids loved seeing and choosing their favorite lego displays and forms of vehicles which also highlighted different locations around the world.
One of their favorite parts of the exhibit was building and creating their own lego duplo vehicles to race down a 6 lane ramp where the vehicles raced past the finish line. Several tables with legos were available to create a car. It was a great way to use their imagination and see the result of their creation through the ramp race. There were legos in various sizes for all ages with the duplo vehicles, regular legos for free play for the older kids and even large size legos you could make a kid-sized tower with.
In the Earth Explorers exhibit, there were interactive displays explaining about various areas in the world where you could explore. You could learn about the animals and insects in the tropical rainforest, go cave diving in the oceans, or learn about animals in the arctic. It was very informative and educational in a fun display with life size props such as a polar bear and a jeep you can play and ride in. The ones my kids enjoyed were being able to use their imagination where they got to step into a deep sea submarine and watch ocean life as well as a hot air balloon ride where the video screens made you feel like you were riding over the African Savanna.
There were also the interactive science displays where kids could put balls into a gravity well and the shake shack where you could experience historic earthquakes. There was so much more to see and play with and this was only the first floor. Would definitely recommend this museum to other families. Kids will have a great time and we’ll definitely be back again!
